Although the new powertrain will provide some fuel economy, however, some features might be removed from the base model to sustain the reduced price. The base model of Cherokee will be now available with an amazing price tag of $26,995, a decrease of $3220 from the current model’s $30,215 starting price. And that’s not all! There is some other great news as well. The new 2012 model will feature electro-hydraulic power steering, which replaces the all-hydraulic system used on 2011 models.
There will be price cut in other Chrysler models as well. For example, the Dodge Durango price will be dropped by $200 compared to the 2011 model. The price of 2012 Dodge Journey will be slashed down by $1200, dropping to $21,795 from $22,995, while buyers of the 2012 Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200 models can get a discount of $250 compared to 2011 models.
